Anyway, in my experience there seems to be a reluctance among a large group of Maschine users to make use of the other tools, that Komplete offers (and it seems, many own Komplete). To me it seems, many want Maschine to be an all-in-one device suitable for every purpose.īut to answer your question - and in a way the one in the Maschine forum - I suppose, it might also not have been recognised, as a) not many Maschine users tend to use Battery or b) create their kits differently.

For instance, I program them in Battery standalone, then I load it into Maschine. There I route and assign the drums to the 16 pads, create a controller mapping and save this as a Maschine group. So I'm not sure, if using Battery in Maschine can be compared to using it with Komplete Kontrol. What I do to get the battery kits I create to show up in the browser is to load a factory kit into Battery, select all the cells right click and "Cut". Then I save the kit as a template and then when I want to make a kit, I open the template and add samples etc. Since the Factory kits have the proper NKS header in them, once you create and save your kit, it will show up in the browser (KK and Maschine) under the users tab. There is only one issue that I have not been able to overcome is that the Factory Kits with the proper NKS Header info have the "Bank" set either the "Battery Factory Library" or the name of the expansion kit (for example "Deep Matter").

I attempted to modify the NBKT file using the Nimbank tool available at denivel to modify the "Bank", but it corrupts the kit file as it is does not have NBKT support. (pick a file name that indicates it is a template)ģ. Select all the cells, right click, "Cut X number of cells.Ĥ. go through the cells and turn off any effects, envelopes etc., set up the key ranges that you want and set up any special output routing.ĭo Not try to make this Template the Template Kit in Battery "Loading" Preferences as the NKS header will get wiped out and wont show in the KK or Maschine Browser.you have been warned. Then when I want create a new kit, I load the "Blank" template, "save as" with the kit name to a location that KK or Maschine is set to scan, and do the sample drag and drop thing and set up cell parameters as needed and save at regular intervals (I usually save after finishing each cell). Once you do a rescan of the location, the kits should show up in the KK and Maschine Browser User library under "Battery" at that point you can tag the kits for filtering etc. What’s more, the NI Battery 4 boasts 128 layered cells, providing you with as much space as you could ever need. This allows you to get creative by adding complex kits, performing sophisticated sound editing, and integrating insert/send effects.
